Start from a ready-made music video style. A template sets the look, the pace and the shot mix, and your song and words still lead.
Last updated
A template is a ready-made music video style, such as Neon flash-cut, Golden-hour performance, POV story, Album-art loop or Velocity cut-up. Pick one and the director starts from its look, its pace and its kind of shots, then fits them to your song.
Use a template
Find one
On your dashboard, Start from a template sits under the box. Each card shows three example stills, the template's shape (such as 16:9 or 9:16) and its pace. Browse all opens the full Templates page, which is also in the sidebar and under + then Start from a template.
Pick it
Press Use (or Use this template). It appears as a chip in the box. Press its × to remove it.
Add your song and start
Add your song and press Start. You don't have to type anything.
What the template decides
The brief fills in the look, the feeling, the places and the shape from the template, marked Filled by the template, and asks only what the template can't answer. Then the template steers the whole film:
- Its palette and light set the concept's style, which then holds across every keyframe.
- Its shot mix shapes the shot cards.
- Its cut rhythm shapes how the edit cuts to your beat.
- Its hook picks the opening shot.
Anything you type still wins over the template.
