KeyframesBeta

Draw a still image for each shot, check the look against your track in the rough cut, and redraw anything that misses before you render.

A keyframe is one still image that sets the look of a shot: who's in it, where, the light and the framing. Keyframes are the first step that costs credits, and the cheapest place to get the look right.

Draw them

Draw one per section

The bar above the board says "Draw N keyframes across the song": one shot for each section, so you can play the whole track. The button shows the price, for example Generate and the credits. Press it.

Or draw single shots

Press Generate on any card. Each card shows its own price.

Play the rough cut

Once one keyframe is drawn, press ▶ Play the rough cut. Your stills play against your song, so you can judge the pacing before you render. Where one still has to hold over shots you haven't drawn, Fill draws them, priced on the button, and Fill everything draws them all at once.

Export MP4 on the rough cut downloads it free, with a "Made with Melodious" watermark.

What a keyframe costs

A keyframe's price depends on its shot's length. At 720p, a 4 second shot costs 7 credits, a 6 second shot 10 credits and an 8 second shot 13 credits. The button always shows the exact number before you press it.

  • A failed keyframe is never charged. Retry draws it again at the card's price.
  • Rerolling a drawn keyframe charges again. The one you had is kept: restore it from the shot's versions, free.
  • Spare credits. If you bought a pack, part of your balance is held for your render. Keyframes come from what's spare, shown in the board's footer.

Keyframes need a pack

Drawing keyframes needs a pack. If you reach the board without one, the board offers the First Video and Full Video packs, and after checkout you come back to the same project, at the same step.

Next: Render.
