How to Upload Suno Songs to Spotify, YouTube and TikTok

The short answer

To upload a Suno song to Spotify you cannot upload directly: Spotify says to work with a distributor, and Suno's terms decide whether you may. For YouTube and TikTok you upload a video, not an audio file. The order that works: confirm your Suno plan covers commercial use, download the song through a permitted download, make a landscape video for YouTube and a vertical one for TikTok, send the audio to a distributor, then add a Spotify Canvas once the track is live. Pitch the song in Spotify for Artists at least 7 days before release.

How do you post a Suno song to Spotify, YouTube and TikTok?

The short answer: You cannot upload a Suno song straight to Spotify: Spotify says to work with a distributor, and Suno's terms decide whether you may monetize it.

Each platform wants something different, and a Suno song arrives with one thing: audio. The sections below put the steps in the order that avoids a rejected upload. The full video workflow is in the Suno music video guide, and the pillar guide is how to turn your Suno song into a music video.

Step 1: Settle the rights first

Before you pay a distributor or render a video, check what your Suno plan permits. Suno's terms say free and Basic users may use Outputs only for personal, non-commercial purposes, and that Pro and Premier subscribers may commercially exploit a song they obtained through a permitted download. Suno's help page adds that a Pro or Premier subscriber should be the only person allowed to monetize those songs through distribution or other channels, and warns that some distributors exclude songs that are not eligible for copyright protection. The plan-by-plan detail, including the download limits introduced in September 2026, is in Suno commercial use, from Suno's own terms. This is not legal advice.

Step 2: Download the song properly

Use Suno's download, not a recording. Suno's terms prohibit obtaining a copy by recording or stream ripping. MP3 is available on every plan and WAV on Pro and Premier, per Suno's help center. If you have the WAV, it is the uncompressed file, so send that to your distributor. Each song counts once against your allowance however many formats you take.

Step 3: Make the video for each platform

YouTube and TikTok take video, so the audio needs pictures. The shape matters:

DestinationShapeNotes
YouTube16:9 landscapeThe full-length home for the song
TikTok, Reels, Shorts9:16 verticalShorter; choose the part of the song that hooks
Spotify Canvas9:16 vertical loop3 to 8 seconds, MP4 or JPG, 720 to 1080 px tall

In Melodious you download the song from Suno, upload the file, write a free brief and choose a length (15 seconds, 30 seconds, 60 seconds or the full song) and a shape, either landscape 16:9 or vertical 9:16, made natively and not cropped. You see the storyboard before paying, and a plan is needed to render. The shape locks after the first keyframe, so decide where it is going first. If you need both, "Make a vertical version" starts a new video from the same brief. Our aspect ratio guide explains the differences, and how to make a music video for TikTok covers the short-form side.

Step 4: Upload to YouTube and TikTok, with disclosure

Upload the finished file as you would any video. Both platforms ask you to label AI content when it looks realistic enough to be mistaken for something filmed; YouTube's guidance says stylization and animation generally do not need a label, but check each platform's current rules. The specifics, and why the music is the bigger risk than the pictures, are in are AI music videos allowed on YouTube and TikTok.

Step 5: Get the song onto Spotify

Spotify's artist support page says to work with a distributor, notes that most charge a fee or commission, and links to its list of preferred and recommended distributors. A signed artist's label likely already works with a distributor. Then:

  1. Choose a distributor and read its terms on AI-generated music, because policies differ and change.
  2. Schedule the release rather than publishing instantly.
  3. In Spotify for Artists, open Music, then Upcoming, select the song and complete the pitch form. Spotify says to deliver music at least 7 days before release, and that doing so adds it to your followers' Release Radar playlists. Pitching does not guarantee editorial placement, and you can pitch one song at a time.

Step 6: Add a Spotify Canvas

Once the track is on Spotify you can attach a Canvas in Spotify for Artists. Spotify's guidelines call for a vertical 9:16 loop of 3 to 8 seconds, as an MP4 or JPG, and suggest avoiding footage of talking, singing or rapping and rapid cuts. The finished screen of a vertical render in Melodious has a Spotify Canvas download, a short rebound loop cut from the video, so you do not have to trim one yourself. The Canvas dimensions post has the full spec and how to turn on Spotify Canvas has the upload path.

Frequently asked questions

Can I upload a Suno song straight to Spotify?

No. Spotify's artist support says to work with a distributor to get your music on Spotify, and notes that most distributors charge a fee or commission. Its page describes a distributor as the route and does not mention uploading directly.

Do I need a paid Suno plan to put a song on Spotify?

For a release you intend to earn from, yes in practice. Suno's terms limit free and Basic users to personal, non-commercial use, and Suno's help page says a Pro or Premier subscriber should be the only person allowed to monetize those songs through distribution or other channels. See the rights post linked below.

Will my distributor accept an AI-generated song?

That depends on the distributor and it can change. Suno's help page warns that some distributors exclude songs that are not eligible for copyright protection. Read your distributor's terms on AI-generated music before you pay for a release.

What do I upload to YouTube and TikTok?

A video file with your audio in it. Make a 16:9 video for YouTube and a 9:16 video for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Both platforms ask for a disclosure when AI visuals look realistic enough to be mistaken for real footage.

How early should I pitch my Suno song to Spotify?

At least 7 days before release. Spotify says that if you pitch an unreleased song at least 7 days before release it adds it to your followers' Release Radar playlists, and that pitching does not guarantee editorial playlist placement. You can pitch one song at a time.

Does Spotify Canvas come from the music video?

It can. Spotify's Canvas is a 3 to 8 second vertical 9:16 loop, 720 to 1080 pixels tall, as an MP4 or JPG. In Melodious, the finished screen of a vertical render has a Spotify Canvas download, so you do not have to cut one by hand.

A song needs a picture on every platform.

Write a free brief, choose landscape or vertical, and see the storyboard before you pay to render.
